I think it is important for me to make a post about what tattoos I found to be my "specialty." Many people have visited the shop and asked me what kind of tattoos I specialized in, and in the past I had said, "everything." It wasn't because I did not know what to specialize in, but rather because I couldn't find a name to the types of tattoos I liked to do. Specifically, I enjoy calligraphy, fantasy tattoos, color tattoos, and black and grey tattoos. If any of those tattoos had a special meaning behind it, I was intrigued. If those tattoos symbolized hardship or accomplishments, or was in any way an indicator of a REALLY special time for that person, I got really amped up to do it. I reeeeeeally enjoy the individuality of a custom piece, because I believe every person is original, and everyone has their own experiences that make them who they are. I always wanted to help people. I find it rewarding to give someone a tattoo; the entire experience of getting a tattoo is personal, and a form of self-expression reflected through art. It is important to note that because tattoos are such a powerful tool of expression, that often they've helped people struggling with depression, body-image issues, anxiety, and helped overcome substance abuse. Their permanency is comforting. Their symbolism is paramount. If I can be the one who gives you a tattoo that brings you comfort in hard times, I'd be honored and I feel I've done my job.
